The Writers Guild of America West released the full list of writers for the second season of “Star Wars: The Mandalorian.”
The Disney Plus show will have eight episodes in its new season, and six of them will be written by showrunner Jon Favreau.
- Dave Filoni — who headed “Star Wars Rebels” and “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” — will write one episode.
- Rick Famuyiwa, who wrote “The Prisoner” episode in season 1, will pen one episode.
Here’s the full list:
- Episode 1 — Jon Favreau
- Episode 2 — Jon Favreau
- Episode 3 — Jon Favreau
- Episode 4 — Jon Favreau
- Episode 5 — Dave Filoni
- Episode 6 — Jon Favreau
- Episode 7 — Rick Famuyiwa
- Episode 8 — Jon Favreau
Takeaways:
- Favreau wrote six episodes in season 1, too, so this isn’t a huge change of pace compared to last year. As showrunner, Favreau will obviously have a big hand on any of the storylines from throughout the season.
- Filoni’s episode 5 is one to watch. We’ve heard rumors that Ahsoka Tano from “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” will appear in the second season. So what better episode to have it happen that in one written by Filoni?
