There’s a chance that a character from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” made a cameo appearance in the second episode of “The Mandalorian” season 2.
What’s going on?
In the second episode, titled “The Passenger,” a creature trips up Mando’s speeder bike and captures the Child (Baby Yoda). The creature holds a knife to Baby Yoda’s throat.
- Mando negotiates with the creature to give Baby Yoda back.
The creature looks eerily similar to Scrapjaw Motito, who yelled at Rey in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

Yes, but: The character who yelled at Rey appeared on Jakku, a dusty planet, and not Tatooine, also a dusty planet.
- The timeline would work as well since “The Mandalorian” happens about 20 years before “The Force Awakens.”
- Still, Mando does light up a jetpack after the creature steals it, so there’s a chance that Mando actually killed the creature.
Either way, it’s a nice call back to the sequel trilogy.
Disney hasn’t confirmed whether the character is the same or not. It’s possible the species look so similar to each other.
