“Pitch Perfect” legend Rebel Wilson revealed this week that she has lost 60 pounds during 2020 — a year that she deemed her “year of health.” And she revealed her favorite exercise.

What’s going on?

Wilson — who said in December 2019 that she planned to use 2020 as a “year of health” — has spent the last 12 months getting into shape, hoping to reach a goal weight by November, Today reports.

On Tuesday night, Wilson answered questions about her journey on Instagram. During the session, she revealed her favorite form of exercise, according to Today.

  • “I’m in a lucky position ... I do have access to really amazing personal trainers but I want you guys to know that the majority of the exercise that I’ve done this year has just been me going out for a walk,” she said. “That is free, you can do it, it’s safe.”

Wilson said she’ll listen to audiobooks and podcasts while walking, which makes the time fly, Today reports.

  • “I know it’s getting colder … but just give it a go. If you can do an hour — that’s what I like to do when I go walking — it is the best,” she added. “Just get your body moving.”

Why Wilson remained heavy

As I wrote about for the Deseret News, Wilson said in previous interviews she actually stayed heavy because she received more acting role opportunities.

In fact, she told the UK tabloid The Sun (via Yahoo News) that she was paid money in the past to be a bigger actress.

  • She said: “It’s not like I want to lose weight and get to around a certain number. It’s more than that, it’s about dealing mentally with why I was overeating and I had a job where I was paid a lot of money to be bigger, at times which kind of can mess with your head a bit.”

Weight loss plan revealed

Wilson said back in May she had set a weight goal for herself. She offered a positive message to all others trying to lose weight during the pandemic, which I wrote about for the Deseret News.

Even if you have to crawl towards your goals, keep going x it will be worth it. Try and give a little bit of effort each day ... I know some days are frustrating ... you feel like giving up, you get annoyed at the lack of progress ... but good things are coming your way.

What are your goals this year? I’ll be honest with you guys — with my ‘Year of Health’ mission I’m trying to get to 75kgs and career wise am trying to get one of my movies into production before the end of the year! Both of these things are requiring a daily effort and there’s constant set backs — but I’m working hard x
