The Killers lead singer Brandon Flowers just made us all realize that “Mr. Brightside” might be the perfect song for washing your hands.

What’s going on:

Flowers appeared in a new video from The Killers’ Twitter account that shows the band’s leader washing his hands while singing the chorus to “Mr. Brightside.”

  • The video was released after The Killers account posted a video of isolated Italians singing “Mr. Brightside.” That video was a fake video created to embrace the meme of Italians singing various pop songs, which has gone viral over the last few days as Italians remained quarantined to deal with the coronavirus.

Why this matters

  • Health experts have often encouraged people to sing “Happy Birthday” while washing their hands for 20 seconds. Washing your hands has become one of the top ideas for dealing with the coronavirus.
  • Gloria Gaynor shared a video of herself singing “I Will Survive” in the bathroom, too.
  • Social media members shared a number of different songs to use for washing your hands, too, as I wrote for the Deseret News.

Other news from The Killers

  • Speaking of coronavirus, Qualtrics has sued The Killers, claiming the band won’t cancel its show at the Utah tech company’s event and wants to be paid despite the coronavirus outbreak, as the Deseret News reported.
