“Judge Judy” will come to an end this year, its 25th anniversary. But that doesn’t mean star Judy Sheindlin is going away anytime soon.

What’s going on?

  • Sheindlin said in a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres, which was released on Monday, that she will be ending her famous show “Judge Judy” after the upcoming 25th season, according to USA Today.
  • Sheindlin said the show will begin its 25th season in September. But it will be the last one.
  • She said: “Next year will be our 25th season: Silver anniversary. And CBS, I think, sort of felt they wanted to optimally use the repeats of my program, because now they have 25 years of reruns. So what they decided to do was to sell a couple of years worth of reruns.”

So what’s her new show?

  • Sheindlin said: “I’m not tired. So ‘Judy Justice’ will be coming out a year later. ... If you’re not tired, you’re not supposed to stop.”
  • She said there aren’t any details about the show yet, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
  • Sheindlin said: “That’s exciting news. ‘Judge Judy,’ you’ll be able to see next year — full year, all new shows. ... The following couple of years, you should be able to catch all the reruns that CBS has sold to the stations that are currently carrying ‘Judy,’ and ‘Judy Justice’ will be going elsewhere. Isn’t that fun?”
