Hungry morning commuters rejoice — breakfast is back on the menu at Wendy’s.

The new breakfast menu, which rolls out at all Wendy’s nationwide starting today (March 2), includes 18 new items, including a Breakfast Baconator sandwich and a Frosty/cold-brewed coffee hybrid called the “Frosty-ccino.”

It’s all part of the company’s billion-dollar initiative to enter the breakfast fast food game in earnest. Wendy’s unsuccessfully introduced breakfast menus in 1985 and 2007, but “those menus were too complicated,” Wendy’s CEO Todd Penegor said in a new interview with Yahoo Finance. Those previous efforts also weren’t developed in partnership with the chain’s franchisee’s, Wendy’s president Kurt Kane explained in a recent Investor Day presentation. This new rollout, by contrast, takes effect at all of Wendy’s’ nearly 6,000 U.S. restaurants.

Other fast food chains are responding. McDonald’s, for example, declared March 2 National Egg McMuffin Day, and is giving customers a free Egg McMuffin. Burger King, meanwhile, is now offering a $5 deal for two Croissan’wiches, two small hash browns and two coffees.

Wendy’s is hoping its new breakfast menu — in which each sandwich is prepped with a fresh, hand-cracked egg (unlike those from McDonald’s and Burger King) — will draw customers looking for something more high-quality. The head chef at Wendy’s’ test kitchen told Yahoo Finance that the new breakfast menu was inspired by “how to get brunch on a bun.”
