Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late animal expert Steve Irwin, got married in a secret and private ceremony on Wednesday, CNN reports.

The couple held the ceremony at the family’s Australia Zoo property just hours before the Australian government instituted a policy forbidding gatherings of more than five people, according to USAToday.

Irwin and her husband, Chandler Powell, held the ceremony for family members only. Irwin’s brother, Robert, walked her down the aisle, and the family lit a candle to honor the Crocodile Hunter’s memory, Yahoo! News reports.

Bindi also shared a tribute to her father the day before the wedding on Instagram, saying he would always be with her.

A camera crew was present at the ceremony to film a wedding special for Animal Planet, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The Australia Zoo confirmed the couple plans to release “a very special project that will ensure Bindi and Chandler’s wedding is shared with everyone,” Good Morning America reports.
