Mindy Kaling explains how she’s doing in quarantine with her 2-year-old daughter

Mindy Kaling has been spending a lot of time with her daughter amid the coronavirus pandemic. The two have been held up together while in quarantine.

What’s going on:

• Kaling told USA Today she has been spending time cooking.
• She said: “I know; I was impressed myself. It’s very unlike me, but I’m doing a ton of cooking because I’m at home all day.”
• Kaling has been testing recipes with her daughter, Katherine, who “a really picky eater, so there’s something uniquely gratifying about finding things for her to eat,” Kaling said.
• Kaling said: “A lot of the cooking is bad. That’s the nice thing about (toddlers): She can’t really tell good food from bad food, so it’s not like I’m cooking these gourmet feasts that always succeed.”

Kaling’s new Netflix show drops soon

• Kaling’s new Netflix show will drop April 27. The show — called “Never Have I Ever” — is a coming-of-age story about a modern-day generation Indiana American teenager who lives in America.
• She will be a high school sophomore who gets wrapped up into frustrating situations, according to Deadline.
