First Order Stormtroopers from “Star Wars” will patrol Disney Springs in the near future as the retail area recently reopened amid the coronavirus pandemic.
What’s going on:
First Order troopers have appeared in Disney Springs so far, and members of the Resistance may be on their way soon.
The First Order and the Resistance are the two warring factions in the sequel “Star Wars” trilogy, which includes the films “The Force Awakens,” “The Last Jedi” and “The Rise of Skywalker.”
Per Disney Parks blog, the troopers are “stationed on some balconies these days.”
Disney Parks said: “If you do see them, it’s probably best to snap a photo from afar and ‘move along,’ as Stormtroopers may not appreciate you getting too close. And, if you’re feeling particularly brave, sport some of the Resistance gear you may have picked up on a visit to Batuu! Of course, if you’re more of a First Order sympathizer and want to fly those colors … well, the Stormtroopers will appreciate that.”
What it means
- The First Order Stormtroopers are commonly seen at the “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge” park at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. The troopers patrol the park and interact with guests on a consistent basis.
- The First Order’s invasion into Disney Springs comes as the resort area has reopened amid the coronavirus pandemic. The phased reopening included the reopening of the World of Disney store on Wednesday.
