“While we understand gamers worldwide are excited to see PS5 games, we do not feel that right now is a time for celebration. And for now, we want to stand back and allow more important voices to be heard.”
The decision comes as the country has seen nationwide protests from one coast to another in response to the death of George Floyd, an unarmed black man who died after a white police officer knelt on his neck.
Other events canceled
Other events have been canceled because of the protests, too.
- EA delayed its event for the “Madden 21” football game.
- Google held off from its Android 11 beta announcement.
We are excited to tell you more about Android 11, but now is not the time to celebrate. We are postponing the June 3rd event and beta release. We'll be back with more on Android 11, soon.— Android Developers (@AndroidDev) May 30, 2020
