Regal Cinemas revealed the release date for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film “Tenet” before quickly taking it away from its schedule entirely.

What happened?

  • Regal Cinemas updated its website to show “Tenet” would open on Sept. 4, which is also Labor Day weekend.
  • Screenshots from Regal’s website surfaced on Twitter, revealing the film’s new release date.
  • Shortly after, “Tenet” disappeared from the website altogether.
  • If you click the “Tenet” website page, it brings you to a “do not use” page, which lists a film with a one minute running time. The “Tenet”cast and director appear on the page, though.

Other release date rumors:

Last week, Warner Bros. announced it would delay the release of “Tenet” indefinitely. The latest Christopher Nolan film — something we know little about — was expected to be the first released during the pandemic. It was originally set to be released on July 15 before it was delayed to Aug. 12. It has since been taken off schedules for the near future.
