Patton Oswalt’s famous filibuster moment in “Parks and Recreation” has now come true with the first episode of “The Book of Boba Fett.”

Oswalt once appeared on the NBC sitcom to filibuster a meeting between the townspeople. He decides to ramble on about different “Star Wars” and Marvel ideas, pitching an entirely new movie and series about the “Star Wars” characters and their connection to other entertainment properties.

In his prediction, Oswalt described Boba Fett’s return. He said that Fett would emerge from the sand, climbing his way out of the Sarlaac Pit and onto the sands of Tatooine.

“We pan down from the twin suns of Tatooine. We are now close on the mouth of the Sarlacc Pit,” he said. “After a beat, the gloved Mandalorian armor gauntlet of Boba Fett grabs on to the sand outside the Sarlacc Pit, and the feared bounty hunter pulls himself from the maw of the sand beast.”

A side-by-side clip of Oswalt’s speech coupled with the opening scene from “Book of Boba Fett” confirms that his description matches almost perfectly with how the show turned out.

That scene has become so famous over the years that a woman from Livingston County, Michigan, delivered a portion of Oswalt’s nine-minute filibuster during her own meeting with the Livingston County Board of Commissioners, according to the Deseret News.

She delivered the speech to make a point about the board’s decision to stop publicly broadcasting their meetings, which would limit government transparency.
