“The Mandalorian” has been nominated for best drama television series at the 2021 Golden Globe awards.

What happened?

The nominations for the 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced Wednesday morning, per CNN.

“The Mandalorian” received a nod for best drama television series for its work released in 2020.

But it will have heavy competition, according to CNN, including

  • “The Crown”
  • “Lovecraft Country”
  • “Ozark”
  • “Ratched”

What awards has the show won?

“The Mandalorian” has been a success so far when it comes to awards. It has won multiple Emmy Awards since its debut in 2019, including ones for sound mixing, sound editing, stunt coordination and production design. This is the first time the show has been nominated at the Golden Globes for a best television series category.
