“Star Wars” legend Mark Hamill recently responded to the idea that Marvel star Sebastian Stan could take on the role of Luke Skywalker.
What did Sebastian Stan say about Luke Skywalker role?
Stan — one of the stars from “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” — recently told “Good Morning America” that he would possibly take on the role as Luke Skywalker if he had the right approval.
- “If Mark Hamill called me, personally, to tell me he feels inclined to share this role with me, then I will believe it. Until then, I won’t believe it,” Stan said on “Good Morning America.”
Hamill threw some cold water on the idea, though, saying his approval probably wouldn’t matter.
- “This assumes I have any say in casting decisions at Lucasfilm when in fact ... I don’t,” he said.
So it remains unclear if Hamill would ever endorse Stan for the role. But it doesn’t appear Hamill will really care since he doesn’t make casting decisions.
Does Mark Hamill support Sebastian Stan as Luke Skywalker?
Hamill has previously tweeted support for Stan, saying back in September 2017:
- “Sorry to disappoint you but I refuse to say “Sebastian Stan-I AM YOUR FATHER!” (even though, in fact, I am).”
This seemed to be a joke directed at how Stan and Hamill look alike.
Hamill previously made a cameo appearance as Luke Skywalker in “Star Wars: The Mandalorian.” He appeared in the Season 2 finale as Skywalker, though the show used technology to de-age the famous actor.
