On April 12, The CW released the first promotional image for the upcoming live-action “Powerpuff Girls” reboot, Entertainment Weekly reports.

The photo for the new series, simply titled “Powerpuff,” is divided into three frames with Dove Cameron, Chloe Bennet and Yana Perrault posing as Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup, respectively.

Each actor is dressed in her character’s signature color.

As previously reported by the Deseret News, the new, live-action pilot follows the three super sisters years after the events depicted in the original Cartoon Network series. Now, in their 20s, they resent that they spent their childhood fighting crime. As new threats arise, the sisters are forced out of retirement and pushed to work together once more.

Since the news first broke about “Powerpuff,” several additions have been made to its cast, Game Spot reports, including Donald Faison (“Scrubs”) as the triplets’ father figure professor Utonium, Nicholas Podany (“Hart of Dixie”) as the evil Mojo Jojo, and Robyn Lively (“Twin Peaks”) as the sisters’ friend and mentor, Sara Bellum.

Deadline adds that Tom Kenny, the narrator for the original “Powerpuff Girls” series, has signed on to narrate the new pilot.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the script for “Powerpuff” was written by Diablo Cody, who won an Academy Award in 2008 for “Juno,” as well as Heather Regnier, who served as a writer on “Veronica Mars.” The site adds that both Cody and Regnier also serve as executive producers for the pilot alongside director Maggie Kiley amongst others.

According to Game Spot, the pilot does not yet have a confirmed premiere date.
