Chrissy Teigen made a joke about a woman named Laurie Loughlin that may have actually been a joke about Lori Loughlin.

Teigen said on Twitter Tuesday that she wondered how she would get into hospitality school. She suggested she might need to reach out to “Laurie Loughlin” about the process.

  • “I wanna go to hospitality school. I am old and didn’t take my SATs. How does this work now? How do you get into school?”
  • “Do I have to Laurie Laughlin (sic) photoshop myself being hospitable.”
  • She later corrected herself, saying she meant to say “Lori” — so clearly this was a reference to Lori Loughlin.

This joke was in reference to the college admissions scandal. Loughlin was one of the celebrity mothers accused in the scandal. She and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, pleaded guilty to paying $500,000 in bribes so their daughters could be team crew recruits for the University of Southern California.

Loughlin and Giannulli both served prison sentences for their role in the scandal. Loughlin’s sentence ended in December and Giannulli’s sentence ended in April.

Per People magazine, Teigen’s joke actually doesn’t apply to Loughlin and Giannulli, though.

  • “Some parents, not Loughlin, were accused of photoshopping their children into sports photos. Her daughters were posed on rowing machines, according to prosecutors,” according to People magazine.
