The series is about nature hosted by Dr. Gordon Wilson. The series is “the first faith-based nature docuseries conveying that men and women are part of God’s plan and not a poison to be ashamed of for living on this earth,” according to the creators of “Riot and the Dance.”
- “There is a huge demand for faith-based projects done right. Our hope is that combining a multi-billion dollar industry with great faith-based storytelling will fill a giant hole in the entertainment industry,” the project’s website said.
The project’s trailer includes the song “Selah” from Kanye West. The song’s title is a reference to a common Hebrew word found in the Book of Psalms. Experts believe the word means “to lift up” or “exalt.”
West has said that the word means “to look back and reflect upon.” The song talks about how God is king and speaks about Jesus, Abraham and other Biblical figures.
“The Riot and The Dance” has announced a new crowdfunding campaign for the first season. The creators hope to earn $5 million in 30 days.
- “Working on ‘The Riot and The Dance’ is more than a dream come true. For a scientist and animal lover, there’s nothing like adventuring in the field. And now, thanks to our fantastic production crew, I can bring millions of families along for the ride, celebrating creation and the Artist behind every fantastic critter,” said Wilson in a statement to the Deseret News. “Faith-based nature docs have never had space in the industry. I’m still amazed that such a shakeup is really happening, and I’m beyond blessed to be a part of it.”
“The Riot and The Dance” was a feature documentary film released in 2018. A second film was released during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Angel Studios’ projects include “The Chosen” and “Dry Bar Comedy.”
