The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints held its 190th Semiannual General Conference this weekend with calls for Latter-day Saints to root out racism and increase unity at time of political division and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Here’s a sampling of the reaction from the weekend.
Day 2 reactions:
Conference always seems to be over too quickly. My heart is full and is at peace. Something that was greatly needed. #GeneralConference

Each general conference just keeps getting better. Also, can we talk about Elder Oaks’s and President Nelson’s talk? They blatantly denounced racism and everything about it. Love it!🤍👏 #GeneralConference
— Emma Mitchell (@EmmaCMitchell8) October 4, 2020
OAKS just preached divine unity, greater love, peace, and constitutional values AND cancelled racism, extremism, and political instability.

Church leaders who give others a chance to learn and progress and have more trust in us than we do ourselves are angels among us.#ElderGodoy#GeneralConference

As a new convert, I am so thankful for the angels in my life. I’m so grateful for their support, patience, and guidance. Thank you! #HearHim #GeneralConference #ElderGodoy https://t.co/yUuQ4GHzF8

My body is full of food and ready for even more spiritual nourishment. Here's to the last session of another great #GeneralConference.

President Nelson's expression of mourning with our Black brothers, sisters, and siblings throughout the world is beautiful. I hope that all non-Black members listen and internalize this. #GeneralConference

At our house it's always pizza bites at #GeneralConference time. It's the only time I can get close to justifying eating them. https://t.co/UcKVbGW7h4

I still won’t forget the day I was an undergrad at UVU, and then, President Holland bought my lunch for me and then proceeded to sit down and eat lunch and talk with me for 30 min. It meant a lot to me at the time. Great talk on repentance. #GeneralConference2020

I don’t think the words to the hymn “Love One Another,” have ever been as poignant for me as they were today during @Ch_JesusChrist #GeneralConference. Especially meaningful after Elder @OaksDallinH talk.

Since #GeneralConference is about as passionate as I get for a live televised event, I decided to make wings. Pressure cooked, then in the air fryer.

Every #generalconference we set up a tent to listen to the prophets just like the people of King Benjamin. We are thrilled! pic.twitter.com/dGnfWQYwc8

If your 96 year old prophet can obediently follow health advice and wear a mask, so can you #generalconference pic.twitter.com/OFd9pZR8JH

The masks are sending one big, clear message here. #GeneralConference pic.twitter.com/hETdOnXqEw

Finally hearing from sane adults who are reminding me to be more Christlike, love those different than me and be a good citizen...must be #GeneralConference2020

To hear these young children singing, "Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer" rings pure and true to my heart, also! Beautiful Savior, miss you in my day to day ho-hum life! #GeneralConference2020 D. Todd Christiansen speaking. Sustainable Societies. Promotes peace.
