SALT LAKE CITY — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released a time-lapse video Thursday showing activity during the first three months of a major renovation project of the Salt Lake Temple.

The 40-second video captures everything that has happened on the south side of the temple since the project started in December 2019.

After the temple was decommissioned, crews demolished the south visitors center and wall in mid January.

Earlier this month, workers removed the Angel Moroni statue and stones damaged during an earthquake on March 18 as part of the renovation. One of the big reasons for the project is strengthening the temple’s foundation for seismic activity.
