SALT LAKE CITY — The location of the Syracuse Utah Temple was announced by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Friday.
The future three-story, approximately 89,000-square-foot structure will be located on a 12-acre site at the intersection of 2500 West and 1025 South in Syracuse. An exterior rendering and groundbreaking date have not yet been announced.
President Russell M. Nelson announced plans to build a temple in Syracuse at the end of last April’s general conference.
The church also announced groundbreakings for the Bentonville Arkansas Temple and the McAllen Texas Temple on Friday.
Elder David A. Bednar of the Quorum of Twelve Apostles will preside over the Bentonville Arkansas Temple groundbreaking in November.
Elder Art Rascon, an Area Seventy, will preside over the McAllen Texas Temple groundbreaking, also in November.
Specific dates have not been released and the ceremonies will be by invitation only.
The Bentonville Arkansas and McAllen Texas Temples were announced during general conference in October of 2019.
