I am disappointed with Rep. Ben McAdams. My reading of the Ukraine transcript leads me to think Donald Trump wants to know if Joe Biden played a role in the corruption Hunter Biden was involved in. Trump appears to have thought Ukraine played a role in anti-Trump interference in 2016 and he wants to know more. That seems entirely understandable. The House Democrats are twisting the facts to suit their narrative. The first count is unpersuasive.

The House wants us to condemn Trump not cooperating with their investigation. Actually, he failed to cooperate with an entirely unfair House process, and he is within his rights to push back. The presidency is independent of the legislative branch. Pushing back is how separation of powers works. If the House had obtained court orders, it would be two against one and he would have to comply. But the House has no power to tell him what to do. So the second count is unreasonable and groundless.

The true basis for impeachment mania appears to be “Orange Man Bad” and it has been going on since before inauguration. This is a new low in American politics. The Democrats fear Trump will be reelected. They oppose democracy.
