Letter: Time to end predatory towing

Letter to the Editor

Hooray for the predatory towing article by Christina Giardinelli in the Aug. 22 Deseret News.

After having my 80-year-old husband’s car towed ($200-plus) for forgetting to display his handicap sign once in front of a pizza store that he frequents every week to play with his Scrabble club, and no mercy from the towing company with proof of handicap, I think it is high time that there is regulation with these towing companies frequenting parking lots to search for business and booting cars because the owners could not see an inadequately placed sign, or forgot to display the handicap placard that hangs in the owner’s face if it is placed permanently on the inside mirror.
