It’s amazing that many who follow these columns are suddenly so interested in due process in the Senate where it was largely denied in the House of Representatives, and which was afforded the accused in previous impeachment hearings where there were real, easily provable crimes.
Due process involves being allowed to call witnesses, question witnesses, face accusers, obtain and present exculpatory evidence and so forth, all of which were largely denied in House hearings. Jonathan Turley spoke in exact and accurate terms when he derided the hypocritical Democratic actions. President Donald Trump’s open letter to Nancy Pelosi, the House and the world is demonstrably accurate, no matter how much one may dislike some of Trump’s actions and demeanor.
