Why was Donald Trump hiding his tax returns? Now we know. In 2016 and 2017, he paid only $750 in federal income tax. A president’s salary is $400,000, and $750 in federal taxes on $400,000 is almost zero percent — it’s 0.18%. Ten of the last 15 years he paid no federal income tax. Who pays zero? He deducted $70,000 off his taxes for hairstyling? Is this a joke? How many American children go to bed hungry?

Maybe he didn’t break the law. The tax laws favor him and his ilk, not us. We pay. I spent 20 years in the Air Force where I had to maintain strict hair length standards, but I couldn’t write haircuts off my taxes. I’m tired of this rigged game. What did you pay last year? Did you pay 0.18%? Are we just suckers and losers because we pay our taxes and serve our country?

Our tax system is rigged against working families, and now we see who rigged it. Those who pay nothing or next to nothing shouldn’t write tax laws or sign them into law. Trump’s one legislative “victory” in the last four years was his permanent tax breaks for the rich.

I paid my taxes, which help pay for this upcoming election. I’ll express my outrage with my ballot. I’ve had enough.
