Doug Robinson is clearly not a baseball fan (“Year in Review: A deadly virus sent sports to the disabled list, but it couldn’t keep them there,” Dec. 24). If he was, instead of dismissing baseball so flippantly (“did they even play?”), he would have complimented the major leagues for putting together an exciting 60-game schedule, followed by an October to remember with a grueling but exhilarating playoff — especially for us Dodgers fans, who have waited over 30 years to see them finally win another World Series.

It was a great diversion from the isolation caused by the pandemic. All the players and their families, coaches and management pulled off a miracle season never to be forgotten.

Thanks for all the great columns, Doug!
