Recent papers have declared another day of way too many cases of COVID-19 occurring in Utah. The governor tells us to be careful. The health department says to be careful. Yet, I go to Home Depot, and hardly anyone is wearing a mask. Same at Smith’s. Same at Walmart. Same almost everywhere.

Last weekend, at the Valley View Golf Course, we were asked to have two people to a cart. Is that social distancing?

It seems that few people and few businesses and few government leaders believe that COVID-19 is really that dangerous, even though it is killing people.

I believe it is reckless and dangerous for the governor to continue to open up the state, while at the same time, people are getting sick and dying at increasing rates. In my view, until we have a proven, effective vaccine, we must take precautions and our government leaders should be ashamed at their willing disregard for the health of our citizenry.
