It is clear that President Donald Trump wishes the COVID-19 pandemic had never occurred. He denies that he had mishandled the situation from the beginning and has consistently denied that he had any responsibility for the way things have evolved.

At his recent rally in Tulsa, he suggested that testing for the virus be slowed down, a sort of “out of sight, out of mind” approach to not keeping tabs on the situation. On Monday, the White House announced that it would no longer require temperature checks for visitors and employees.

The COVID-19 pandemic will not disappear despite his efforts to pretend that it is going away. He clearly has no guilt about the situation.
