I bicycled solo up Emigration Canyon at 6:30 a.m. last week, and returning back down the canyon, “staying as close to right side of the road as safely practicable” was pulled over by a Unified Police officer. He indicated because I was only traveling 30 mph, I was violating state law by “impeding traffic” in a 40 mph speed limit zone — but did not issue me a citation. I’m unable to find such reference in state law — especially if a “bicycle has equal rights and provisions as a motor vehicle.”
