Imagine tree seedlings, wildlife habitat, watershed quality and scenic beauty being destroyed every day in our Wasatch mountains. It happens daily by some thoughtless and careless snowmobilers.

It doesn’t take much of a hike to Guardsman Pass and Bonanza Flats Conservation Area to see the destruction of small trees, mowed over by massive polluting and noisy machines. Imagine those trees being able to grow to maturity, supporting wildlife habitat and protecting watershed for our needs in the valley.

Signs prohibiting off-road riding are ignored and vandalized. Snowmobilers have been unable to monitor their own illegal behavior due to this ongoing problem.

Yellowstone Park does not allow off-trail riding and can fine people $5,000. I believe some strong enforcement is in order to protect the Wasatch.
