Working full time and still paying over 50% of income on rent, too often resulting in having to choose between food and bills. Making the recent increases to the child and earned income tax credits permanent can make a big difference.
The housing choice vouchers program is also a powerful and proven solution, but currently reaches only 25% of those who qualify. Congress can act to make the tax credit increases permanent and expand the vouchers program to reach all who qualify. Contact your representatives and ask them to do just that. Together we can encourage these changes and make a difference for millions.
