It's a different gig when you're the head coach.

Longtime Ute assistant football coach Gary Andersen is now the head guy at Utah State. Asked if he had experienced any suprises as a head coach he said, "For myself, it's the constant flow. The hardest part for me is balancing my time between everything that goes on and making sure I allot the amount of time for my No. 1 priority - which is the players. That was the biggest surprise."

He went on to say being the big man is "very different, no question" from being a coordinator.

"As a coordinator you got to come in and look at film by yourself in a room for six or seven hours; look at an offense and break it down. You didn't have to go anywhere. But now you've got to get your players in camp and going so many different directions, so it kind of forces me to keep organized."

Andersen said though the hours are about the same, some things are different when you move up to the top spot.

"Now when I leave here I don't go to sleep as fast as I used to. I'm still working when I'm trying to get to sleep."
