Now that Utah is in the Pac-10, it could make some regional games even more interesting, in at least one way.

With BYU and Boise State still not in an automatic qualifying conference, they'll have high incentive when they play Utah. I'm assuming the Utes and Cougars will continue to play annually, like Colorado-CSU or Florida State-Florida. But the Utes are also scheduled to meet Boise State in 2011 and 2012.

How much do you think the Cougars and Broncos will want to win those games?

Possibly more than Utah.

Both BSU and BYU could make a case for belonging in a BCS conference, but so far they have been passed by.

Utah's problems might not be limited to competing in the Pac-10, but figuring out how to get by teams with a statement to make.
