So if I have this correct, the NBA technically owns the New Orleans Hornets, but is soon to sell. And since the league's draft lottery was this week, and New Orleans ended up with the No. 1 pick, then the whole deal has to be rigged, right?

Only 18 percent of 6,000 people in a USA Today poll thought otherwise.

Count me among those 18 percent.

But even some media are buying into the theory, or at least leaving open the possibility.

I figure if the NBA is going to commit a felony, it isn't going to be in front of millions on television. And it isn't going to be over teams like the Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Portland Trail Blazers and Toronto Raptors all teams that have drawn the top pick in recent years.

If there were a conspiracy, how come the New York Knicks don't end up with the top pick every year they're in the lottery? In fact, the Knicks in the largest market in the country, where the NBA offices are have had the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft just once (1985), yet been in the lottery seven times.

I figure conspiracy theorists should focus on something like aliens in Roswell or the Federal Reserve being a front for the New World Order. Anyway, if you think it's all fixed -- or all legit -- let us know:
