Despite previous articles about Jabari Parkers choice of colleges, you have to figure BYU still has a shot. Why? Partly because he currently goes to LDS Seminary at 6 a.m.
In an interview with Dave Daniels of Rant Sports, the prized high school player reiterated his stance on a mission: Hes thinking about it. But he also said, ...I have to get up at 5 o'clock in the morning, and my ride picks me up at 5:30, and it starts from 6 to 7. I wished I lived in Utah, so I would be able to have that as a class and I wouldnt have to take it so early, but I think everything is given for a reason, and thats helped me excel in school.
Too late for a change of high schools, but it does hint that hed love to have his religion classes as part of his daytime curriculum, sort of like they do at, oh, BYU. He could take them for credit toward graduation.
Either way, religion studies should get easier once he graduates high school. He can also get Institute classes in college at almost any school, including Duke, Kentucky and Michigan State, his reported top three considerations.
