The first day of the early signing period has come and gone, with two days left to go until the early signing period closes on Dec. 20. The Utes, Cougars and Aggies all signed recruits on the first of two signing periods (the second, and traditional, football signing period opens on Feb. 5) and here’s where they place in recruiting rankings at the two main recruiting sites, 247 Sports and Rivals.
Utah Utes
Utah landed four-star recruit Van Fillinger, a defensive end from Corner Canyon, three-star running back Ty Jordan, three-star tight end Connor O’Toole and three-star safety Nate Ritchie of Lone Peak. The Utes also added South Carolina grad transfer quarterback Jake Bentley. Utah’s recruiting rating could still rise, as four-star cornerback and Ohio State commit Clark Phillips will announce his decision. Phillips took an official visit to Utah on Dec. 14, according to 247 Sports. Juan Diego defensive end Xavier Carlton is another four-star target for the Utes and signed with the Utes on Thursday.
