SALT LAKE CITY — Utah followed the leadership of Donovan Mitchell to earn a hard-fought 111-106 victory over the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena on Thursday in Atlanta.

Rudy Gobert’s putback slam with 42 seconds to play made it a 109-103 game and after an Atlanta 3, the Jazz wrapped up the win by finishing the game on a 24-13 run.

The victory extended Utah’s winning streak to four games.

Here are three takeaways that defined the game:

  • Mitchell and Atlanta’s Trae Young put on a show in the fourth quarter. Mitchell scored 15 of his 30 points in the final period while shooting 6 of 8 from the field. Young, meanwhile, had 12 of his 30 points in the fourth on 5 of 13 shooting. Joe Ingles and Gobert also had big fourths. Ingles finished with 14 points, five assists and two steals, while Gobert had 20 points, 13 rebounds and three blocks.
  • The Hawks entered the game worst in the NBA in 3-point shooting at 31.9%. Atlanta, though, had the upper hand in 3-point shooting on the night, making 11 of 29 to keep it close. Utah shot 6 of 24 from 3-point range, though the Jazz’s final 3, from Ingles, was part of an 8-0 Utah run to regain the lead.
  • It was a tight game throughout, as there were 12 ties and 22 lead changes. Atlanta led by as many as 11 points in the first half, but no more than six in the second half. Utah’s biggest lead was at six points late in the fourth quarter when the Jazz used an 8-2 run to gain the advantage in a contest tied at 99-all with 5:03 to play.
