SALT LAKE CITY — Utah will be hitting San Antonio from all sides in preparation for Tuesday’s Alamo Bowl against Texas. After going to their respective homes for a couple of days, the 11th-ranked Utes will gather at the bowl site on Christmas night.

“Our administration has been really good about maximizing whatever the NCAA will allow,” said Utah coach Kyle Whittingham.

On Thursday morning, Utah will practice at nearby Trinity University. A trip to SeaWorld is planned for the afternoon. The Texas Longhorns arrive the next day, while the Utes have no bowl events scheduled.

Saturday’s itinerary begins with lunch and interaction with children from Boysville, a San Antonio youth shelter. A press conference featuring Morgan Scalley, Bradlee Anae, Francis Bernard, Terrell Burgess and Leki Fotu comes later in the day, as does an NBA game between the San Antonio Spurs and Detroit Pistons.

Sunday afternoon’s slate features a press conference. Utah’s participants include Andy Ludwig, Tyler Huntley, Brant Kuithe, Zack Moss and Darrin Paulo. A pep rally is planned for early evening.

Whittingham and Texas coach Tom Herman are the speakers at a Monday press conference. A kickoff lunch for 1,100 people, including both teams, will follow.

Tuesday’s kickoff is set for 5:35 p.m. MST at the Alamodome.
