LOGAN — The Utah State Aggies are headed east.
Utah State Vice President and Director of Athletics John Hartwell announced Friday morning that Utah State football will play a home-and-home series with the University of Connecticut in 2022 and 2023.
Additionally, the Aggies finalized a pair of future home games against FCS foes. USU will host Weber State on Sept. 10, 2022, and Idaho State on Sept. 9, 2023.

With the announcement, Utah State’s 2022 and 2023 nonconference schedules are complete. In 2022, the Aggies will host Connecticut (Aug. 27) and Weber State (Sept. 10), and visit Alabama (Sept. 3) and BYU (Sept. 30). In 2023, USU will host Idaho State (Sept. 9) and BYU (Sept. 16), and play at Iowa (Sept. 2) and at Connecticut (Sept. 30).
Utah State is 1-0 all-time against Connecticut, with a 38-31 road win over the Huskies on Nov. 10, 2001.
The Aggies are 14-1 all-time against the Wildcats, meanwhile, and 18-2 all-time against the Bengals. USU and WSU last met in 2016 and the Aggies walked away with a 45-6 victory. The following year, 2017, USU topped Idaho State 51-13.
In the recently concluded 2019 season, Utah State played Wake Forest, LSU, Stony Brook and BYU in nonconference play, finishing 1-3 outside of Mountain West Conference play, as part of a 7-6 campaign that ended with a loss to Kent State in the Frisco Bowl.
