Delta’s Casey Fowles won the Utah PGA Match Play Championship with a 1-up victory over Riverside head pro Chris Moody Wednesday at Hubbard Golf Course at Hill AFB.

The Sunset View head pro sank a 20-foot birdie putt at the 18th hole to win the match after trailing on the back nine. Moody, a four-time champion of the event had gone ahead with a par at No. 16, but Fowles tied the match at 17 win and won it at 18.

Fowles had knocked off defending champion Zach Johnson in the morning semifinals, while Moody had defeated Pete Stone. Fowles earned $2,500 with the victory.
