SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Utah golf team will welcome transfer Sam Tidd to the 2020-21 roster, coach Garrett Clegg announced Tuesday.
Tidd is a native of Meridian, Idaho, who played for the University of Oklahoma last season. He will be eligible immediately and compete with the Ute golf team this fall.
“We are thrilled to have Sam join our golf program,” said Clegg. “He is a fantastic player. He was a highly accomplished junior golfer and we anticipate he will be a fantastic addition to our team that we expect to make a positive impact with the team.”
Tidd has four AJGA top-10 finishes and has also qualified for the Junior PGA Championship and Western Junior Championship twice.
“I couldn’t be more excited to get to Utah and help the team out every way that I can,” Tidd said. “Our team has a lot of potential and I am looking forward to seeing what we can do this season.”
The Utes will be led by juniors Blake Tomlinson and Tristan Mandur, sophomores Colton Tanner and Axel Einarsson and freshmen Javier Barcos and Jesper Von Reedtz.
