Utah’s Tony Finau, who fired his longtime caddie at the start of the week, is doing just fine with swing coach Boyd Summerhays on the bag at the 3M Open in Minnesota this week.
Finau remains in a tie for third place heading into Sunday’s final round after a 2-under-par 69 Saturday left him at 13-under 200, two shots behind co-leaders Richy Werenski and Michael Thompson at 198. Former Masters champion Charl Schwartzel is tied with Finau at 200.
Finau shot 1-under on both nines with a three birdies and two bogeys on the front nine and a pair of birdies with one bogey on the back nine.
Last week, Finau was tied for second behind eventual winner Jon Rahm heading into the final round before finishing in eighth place. He is looking for his first PGA Tour victory since winning the Puerto Rico Open in 2016.
