OGDEN — The 2020-21 college football season might be postponed for the Weber State Wildcats, thanks to the novel coronavirus pandemic, but preseason honors keep rolling in.
Weber State announced Tuesday that five Wildcats were named to the STATS Perform Preseason All-America team.
Junior running back and two-time All-American Josh Davis led the way, receiving first-team honors. In his two seasons suiting for the Wildcats — he redshirted the 2017 season — Davis has rushed for 2,498 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Also named to the first-team was senior offensive lineman Ty Whitworth.
Additional Weber State preseason All-Americans are senior defensive lineman Jared Schiess and senior placekicker Trey Tuttle, each of whom was named to the second-team, as well as dynamic senior kick returner Rashid Shaheed, who earned third-team honors.
All five preseason All-Americans have previously earned Big Sky All-Conference honors, and Davis and Shaheed are returning All-Americans.
The Big Sky led all FCS conferences with players named to the preseason All-America team — 22 in total — and the Wildcats are tied for the most of any conference school.
