Carbon tops South Sevier in big Region 12 clash

The Dinos jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter and rallied on to get the 48-35 victory over South Sevier in the Region 12 match-up.

Janzie Jensen scored a game-high 15 points while Makenna Blanc and Alex Cartwright combined for another 16 points. Carbon improves its record to 10-1 on the season, and will host Emery next Thursday.

Ridgeline rallies past Viewmont for win

Ridgeline trailed entering the second half, but was able to bounce back and take the lead with the help of Haley Anderson, who racked up four 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 33 points in the 50-45 victory against Viewmont.

Emma Mulitalo had 12 points to lead the Vikings and teammate Lauren Weir added another 11 points in the loss.

Viewmont will host Box Elder on Tuesday to open region play, and Ridgeline will play Green Canyon next Thursday.


Valley edges Milford in Region 20 clash

Jannie Hoyt led all scorers with 25 points, including three 3-pointers, to lift the Buffaloes in the victory over Milford. Brittyn Heaton and Esther Cox each added double-digits to help give Valley the 59-56 win on the road.

Valley was trailing by five points going into the fourth quarter, but managed to rally for a 21-point quarter to take the slim lead.

Tayleah Spaulding and Analise Wiseman each had 12 points for the Tigers in the loss.


Herriman rolls past Skyridge in nonregion clash

Lexi Jensen scored 19 points and Lealani Falatea added another 17 points, 15 of which came from behind the arc, as Herriman cruised to the big win over Skyridge, 77-43. As a team, the Mustangs had 13 3-pointers, 14 steals, and scored 30 of their 77 points on fast breaks.

Herriman improves to 9-1 on the season, and will begin region play on Friday, January 15 against Jordan.


Cedar Valley rallies past Uintah in fourth quarter

Naomi Nicholson scored 13 points and Taylor Miyasaki added another 12 to lift Cedar Valley to the narrow 44-42 victory over Uintah.

The Aviators trailed by eight going into the fourth quarter, but rallied for a 20-10 run to take the lead and secure their fist Region 10 win of the season.

The Utes were led by Jordan Woodford and Kenna Gardiner, who each scored in double-digits. But the team let itself down at the foul line, where it was 17-for-32.


Hurricane prevails against Cedar City in OT

The Tigers lost their lead in the fourth quarter, but battled back in overtime to snatch a narrow 42-41 win against the Reds. Haley Chesley had 14 points on the night, and Hurricane improved its record to .500 in region play. 

Abby Davis and Grace Morales each reached double-digits for Cedar City in the loss.


Rockwell stuns Rowland Hall in final seconds

Rockwell’s Kaiya Bond hit two free throws with just four seconds left on the clock to give the Marshals their first-ever region victory over Rowland Hall. Bond finished the game with eight points while teammates Jenna Bond and Greta Robinson combined for 21 more to help push Rockwell to the 33-32 victory.

Rockwell improves to 11-4 on the season, and will be visiting APA West Valley on Tuesday.

Kaitlyn Bates, Anna Jiricko, and Micha Nenbee racked up 10 points apiece for the Winged Lions in the loss. They will take on Utah Military Hillfield next Thursday.
