Rebecca Poulsen scored 20 points and Richfield jumped all over South Summit in the first half as it rolled to the easy 3A second round win. No. 5 seed Richfield led 15-3 after the first quarter and 29-6 at the half. Kate Robinson chipped in with 13 points for the Wildcats.
No. 8 seed Morgan dominated No. 9 seed Manti for the 3A second round win on Saturday. The Trojans had four players score in double figures, with Janel Blazzard leading the way with 21 points, and Alyvia Jaffa chipping in with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Next up for Morgan in the quarterfinals is No. 1 seed South Sevier.
In a tightly-contested No. 10 vs. No. 7 seed showdown in the 3A second round, seventh-seeded Delta held off a fourth quarter push by Union to advance to the 3A quarterfinals. Jadee Dutson led Delta with 12 points, with Kinlie Davis adding 11 points or the Rabbits. Kinslee Drake led Union in the loss with 14 points.
Top seed South Sevier rolled past No. 16 seed North Sanpete for the 3A second round win. Presley Chapell led the Rams with 16 points, while Alexa Robinson added 11 and Leah Torgerson chipped in 10. South Sevier advances to face No. 8 seed Morgan in the quarterfinals.
No. 2 seed Emery cruised to the 3A second round victory behind another dominant offensive and defensive performance. The Spartans had 13 players score in the blowout, with Baylee Jacobsen and Bethany Justice each leading the way with 13 points.
No. 6 seed Judge used a big first quarter to open up an early lead on visiting San Juan and it never looked back en route to the 3A second round win. Teya Sidberry led Judge with an 18 point and 14 rebound double-double. Emilie Palmer led San Juan in the loss with 15 points.
Leading just 23-21 at the half, No. 4 seed Carbon pulled away with a dominant second half for the 3A second round win. The Dinos outscored visiting Summit Academy 34-15 in the second half led by Amiah Timothy’s 23 points and 10 more from Madi Orth.
Third-seed Grantsville dominated from the outset, outscoring visiting Juab 38-9 in the first half in a big 3A second round win. Grantsville had four players score in double figures, led by 19 points from Emily Backus and then 13 each from Emily Ware and Kenzie Allen.
