Ever since the NBA season started, it’s been known that there was a jersey the Utah Jazz would wear that wouldn’t be unveiled until some point later in the campaign.
The jersey, part of the league’s “Earned” edition, unofficially leaked quite some time ago, but on Wednesday it was formally unveiled.
The green threads are very similar to the “Earned” jerseys the Jazz wore during the 2018-2019 season, although they are a lighter shade and more reminiscent of the jerseys the team wore when the franchise moved to Utah. Beyond that, some of the striping is different, although the other colors on the jersey remain yellow and white.
Only teams that made the playoffs the previous season get “Earned” jerseys the following year.
According to the team’s schedule on its official website, it will wear the threads for the first time Friday when it returns from the All-Star break at home against the Houston Rockets. In all, the Jazz are scheduled to wear them in 10 of their remaining 36 regular season games.
The jerseys, the team says, will be available for purchase beginning March 18.
