Most of the top track teams in 6A gathered at the Davis Super Meet at Davis High School in Kaysville on Tuesday, with the girls headlining the opening day of the competition.
If it’s a precursor of what to expect throughout the season, 6A should be very competitive.
Layton edged host Davis 103 to 100 to claim first place, with Syracuse in third with 95 points and Fremont in fourth with 93 points.
Day 2 of the Davis Super Meet will feature 6A’s top boys programs squaring off against each other.
Copper Hills junior pole vaulter Brielle Davis set a new state record at the meet as she cleared 12’09.The previous state record was 12’03, which was set by Orem’s Lauren Merrill back in 2019.
