BYU faces Colorado in the Alamo Bowl Saturday. Which team will come out on top?

A porcupine from the San Antonio Zoo has just weighed in.

On Sunday, the San Antonio Zoo shared a video on X that featured Elmer the porcupine making his prediction for the Alamo Bowl.

In the video, Elmer is shown approaching two boxes — one with the BYU logo and one with the Colorado logo. He first stopped at and sniffed the Colorado box.

Elmer the porcupine then turned to the BYU box, but after just one sniff, he returned to the Colorado box, picking the Buffaloes to win the Alamo Bowl over the Cougars.

At the end of the video, sunglasses and a Colorado chain were photoshopped onto Elmer to resemble Coach Prime’s signature look with a Heisman trophy next to him, which Colorado cornerback and wide receiver Travis Hunter won this year.

How accurate can a porcupine and the San Antonio Zoo be when it comes to picking Alamo Bowl winners? Well, history may not be on BYU’s side.

Over the years, the zoo has used several animals from tigers to anteaters to make predictions of which team will win the Alamo Bowl, and the animals have had a successful track record.

Last year, Hogan the anteater correctly predicted that Arizona would beat Oklahoma.
