President Donald Trump said Friday morning that he and his first lady Melania Trump had tested positive for the novel coronavirus, and it appears he may be experiencing minor symptoms.

What’s going on?

Trump said late Thursday night, early Friday morning, that he had tested positive for the coronavirus — sending shockwaves around the world.

  • The announcement came after reports leaked that his top aide, Hope Hicks, tested positive for the virus, too.

On Friday, The New York Times reported that Trump “is showing symptoms of the novel coronavirus, but mild ones.”

  • Trump “had what one person described as cold-like symptoms,” The New York Timesreported.
  • Trump was described as “lethargic” at an event he attended in Bedminster, New Jersey, according to The New York Times.

Anyone else test positive?

On Friday morning, Vice President Mike Pence, and his wife, Karen, tested negative for the coronavirus, according to multiple reports.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said he tested negative for the virus as well.
