Washington, D.C., resident Bil Anderson said his house has something in common with Utah — a random and mysterious monolith appeared there.
What’s going on?
Anderson told Fox 5 DC his family left the house Sunday morning for a walk. The family returned around noon and found the monolith there in the front yard.
- “The sun was up and it was gleaming off it — we pulled in and it was pretty spectacular!” he said.
Anderson said neighbors didn’t notice anything happening in the meantime. He said his security cameras didn’t catch anything since the batteries had died.
- He told Fox 5 DC he wouldn’t be surprised if someone in the area planted it as an art display since there are a lot of creative people living in the area.
Monoliths continue to appear
The mysterious monolith craze began in Utah when a team of biologists discovered it in the remote wilderness. Soon after, monoliths appeared in Romania, California, Netherlands, England and Pennsylvania.
There are several theories about the monoliths. Some consider them to be art displays that might be showing us a mirror image of how we’d respond to the presence of aliens. Others consider them a marketing stunt that will reveal its true motives in the near future, as I explained for the Deseret News.
