House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reportedly got her hair done from a hair salon in San Francisco on Monday, even though hair salons in the city were closed until Tuesday.

What happened:

Pelosi got her hair done in a San Francisco salon Monday, which violated the city’s COVID-19 rules, according to Fox News. Security footage showed Pelosi in the eSalon with wet hair and no mask, NBC News reports.

  • Hair salons were closed in San Francisco until Tuesday, which was the date when they could reopen for business. Clients were required to wear masks inside the establishments, though.

Salon owner Erica Kious told Fox News that Pelosi’s assistant arranged the appointment with an independent stylist.

  • “It was a slap in the face that she went in, you know, that she feels that she can just go and get her stuff done while no one else can go in, and I can’t work.”

Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill defended Pelosi, saying in a statement: “This business offered for the speaker to come in on Monday and told her they were allowed by the city to have one customer at a time in the business.”
